Christmas shopping in 2020 is looking very different for a lot of people. Many consumers will be looking for other ways to Christmas shop in 2020 than their normal browsing the malls and stores for the perfect gifts.
Every year I would spend a whole day in December doing just that—browsing the mall and stores doing my Christmas shopping. This is a day I would look forward to and enjoy every year. But this day will look different for me this year. Instead I will be spending this day in front of a computer screen browsing Amazon and other online stores.
Would you like some ideas on how to do your Christmas shopping in 2020? Here are 8 ways to Christmas shop in 2020 during the pandemic!
1. Online Shopping
This is a very popular way to shop even pre-COVID, but now during COVID more and more people are turning to online shopping. It’s a way for you to find those perfect gifts and do all your Christmas shopping in a safe way.
Amazon is a great online store that pretty much has anything you may be looking for. But it’s also not the only place you can shop online. You can still shop at some of your favorite department stores such as Walmart, Target, Kohl’s online and get exactly what you are looking for. There are also ecommerce stores such as etsy.com, which is a popular site to purchase personalized unique gifts.
But with so many online purchases increasing this year, you may experience longer shipping times. It may take longer than normal for you to receive those gifts. With this being the case, I recommend getting those online purchases done now if you haven’t already. You want to make sure you are receiving your gifts in time for Christmas.
2. Customized Photo Gifts
Customized photo gifts is a way to personalize your Christmas gifts that everyone seems to love. There are so much to choose from, from blankets, mugs, calendars, pillows, coasters, glasses, and jewelry, making these great Christmas gifts for any family member.
What is also great about these photo and printing companies is there are always great deals around the holidays for pretty much any gift you choose. With a few different websites to choose from such as Shutterfly, Winkflash, and Snapfish you are bound to find something for everyone.
3. Gift Cards
Another easy and simple gift for Christmas this year is gift cards. Taking this route will cause less hassle and stress for you this Christmas.
Check out raise.com where you can purchase digital gift cards. With purchasing these digital gift cards you can receive up to 15% cashback. It’s a win-win scenario. You purchase a digital gift card for your family or friend’s favorite stores and receive a little back as well.
4. Non-Traditional Gifts
This year you may even go for the non-traditional gift. Instead of buying the usual clothes, jewelry, retail items, you may opt for streaming services, games, books, digital gift cards, or future travel vouchers for when the pandemic is over.
With everyone spending more time at home these days, all of these possible Christmas gifts are a way for families to connect and spend time together.
5. Homemade Gifts
Finding ways to shop this Christmas or looking to personalize your gifts more, why not try some homemade gifts. Homemade gifts are more thoughtful and personal than any store bought gift.
This can also be a good activity for kids to do, making homemade gifts for their parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. You can’t go wrong with a child’s homemade gifts.
6. Facebook Parties
These Facebook parties has been a way for friends and family to stay connected and involved when they haven’t been able to get together face to face. And with these types parties, you can start stocking up on kitchen and beauty products or books for the kids. Great Christmas gifts!
7. Curbside Pickup
This is a way for you to still shop at some of your favorite stores at a safe distance and not have to physically go into the store. That is if the store is doing curbside pickup. Not all stores are offering this service, but there are still plenty of stores that are.
You can order items you want, pull up to the store, and a store employee will put the items you purchased right in your car without you having to have any contact at all.
Christmas shopping at a safe distance!
8. In Store Shopping with a Mask
If you still want to go the traditional way of Christmas shopping, there are stores that are opened, but you are required to wear a mask.
If you want to go this route, play it safe and make sure you are keeping your distance and wearing your mask at all times.
I also recommend not going with the intention of browsing. If you are going in stores, the best way to do that is to go with specific items in mind.
No matter which way you choose to do your Christmas shopping this year, I hope you make it enjoyable.
I hope these 8 ways to Christmas shop in 2020 during the pandemic have been helpful to you.
